As I come across the question that needs to be answered, I now
change it to why do people of authority not care about black lives like they do
any other? I would not call racism at all, I would just call it hatred, or on
some occasions accidents. Last week outside of the union we had a candle
lighting, and earlier that day we had a rally were we laid outside of the union,
just to show others that black lives matter. We are one as nation, it’s not you
versus anymore. No one that’s not a African American male will never understand
how it feels to be one. We feel as if we have two strikes against, us being
black, and we are a male on top of that. I have been called black monkeys,
nigger, and some more inappropriate names since I have went to this school. But
why transfer and run from the problem, that is not doing any justice, It
actually hinders the following people because they watch us, and look up to us.
I would look like a coward, and that’s is not what I want. As I sat and watched
three cases in the last decade of my life that was not judged equally, I sit
and think to myself, how to do you get justice for a system that was not
created for us minorities in the world. My brothers and sisters on this walk to
freedom I ask not much of you, but to spread the word and attempt to stop this
violence that is going on in this cruel place we call the world. Emmitt, Trayvon, Michael, and Eric Garner all died for reasons. I think
it was to show us that black lives matter, because these are not the first
cases that happened. They are just just the one’s that got noticed. Some we
will never understand what happened, but it’s not for us to. As they came
across their last minutes, they probably would not even imagine being this
famous now. Their stories will forever be remembered. As I scream to the top of my lungs Rest in
Peace, it’s not just for them but for all the children and adults who pass away
because of racism or self-defense from higher authority. Black lives matter and
yours does too. The ceremony that took place was very emotional, and will be
placed on CNN in a couple of days.
